Your money matters. Your security does too.

Your financial security is important to us. That's why our banking system includes features designed to help identify suspicious login activity and add an extra layer of identity verification when needed.

Bank with confidence, knowing security is built into your mobile banking experience.

Multiple Layers of Protection for Your Account

Our banking security combines device risk assessment with additional identity verification to help protect your account against unauthorized access.

Smarter Login Protection

Security checks designed to help identify suspicious activity.

Our Login Defense feature assesses information associated with the device being used to access your account. It evaluates multiple risk indicators to help distinguish legitimate login activity from potentially suspicious behavior.

These checks may include:

  • Device recognition: Identifies whether a device has been seen before.

  • Device history: Evaluates whether a device has been associated with previous suspicious or fraudulent activity.

  • Device relationships: Examines connections between devices that may indicate shared risk.

  • Unusual activity: Looks for anomalies or other indicators that may suggest elevated risk.

  • Device security signals: Evaluates indicators such as whether a device appears to be rooted or jailbroken or whether a mobile emulator is being used.

  • Location and network signals: Considers information such as associated IP addresses and geographic indicators.

What does this mean for you?

Not every login presents the same level of risk. Based on the assessment and configured security rules, the system can allow a login to proceed, request additional verification, or deny access when significant risk is identified.

This risk-based approach is designed to help protect accounts while reducing unnecessary interruptions for legitimate users.

multi-factor authentication

An extra layer of identity verification when needed.

Our Out-of-Band Authentication feature adds another step to help verify your identity. When additional verification is required, you may receive a one-time passcode through text message or voice call.

You enter the passcode into your online or mobile banking session to complete verification. This additional check may occur during login or during an existing session before certain higher-risk actions are allowed.

For example, the system may request additional verification when you change your password or update your email address.

Why does this matter?

A password alone may not be enough to establish that the person accessing an account is authorized to do so. Multi-factor authentication provides another layer of verification to help protect against unauthorized access.

Security Designed to Balance Protection and Convenience

Strong security doesn't have to mean adding extra steps every time you bank.

Our system uses a risk-based approach to determine when additional verification may be appropriate. Depending on the risk assessment and applicable security rules, a login may:

  • Proceed: No additional challenge is required.

  • Require verification: You may be asked to confirm your identity.

  • Be denied: Access is blocked when the device or activity presents a level of risk that meets the system's denial criteria.

This approach helps balance account protection with a convenient banking experience. A new device, unusual activity, or other risk indicators may lead to additional verification.

You Can Help Protect Your Account Too

Our security features provide additional safeguards, but your own security practices remain important.

  • Keep your contact information up to date. Make sure your phone number is current so you can receive verification codes or automated calls.

  • Never share one-time passcodes. Don't give a verification code to someone who contacts you, even if they claim to represent your credit union.

  • Use a strong, unique password. Avoid reusing passwords from other websites or services.

  • Review your account activity. Check transactions regularly and contact us if you notice activity you don't recognize.

  • Keep your device updated. Install available operating system and app updates.

  • Watch for suspicious messages. Be cautious with unexpected links, calls, or texts requesting personal or financial information.

Remember: Never share your one-time verification code with someone who contacts you.
